There is a very mysterious island also in the island nation of Kiribati by the name of Easter Island. The attraction that has given this island its famous and mysterious reputation are the Maois scattered throughout the island. The Moais statues were carved out of volcanic rock approximately 1500 years ago and there are approximately one-thousand of them on the island. Not much else is known about them.
